Couldn't figure out how to leave a zero star review calling out these liars.
Price is wrong on MacUpdate, it's actual retail price is $60 per the store.
If it's regular price is $39.95 (ie more than just March) they are in violation of federal trade regulations against deceptive pricing practices.

The tagline under the title says "Free screen capture software." And the Overview starts with "Debut is a free screen capture application for Mac." And then the price shows that it's $50. So which is it? Can't be both.

Well, my Debut 3.04 really works "free" on my OSX.12.1, but without sound. If I activate the checkmark for sound in Options>Audio, then it shows "Cannot start recording ... Please check your encoder options" when I start a screen recording. And this won't go away, even after unchecking it, so Debut 3.04 always just records 1x (one time) after restarting Sierra (and without sounds). For now I cannot give more than 3 stars, sorry...
